Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "AVSpare Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on AVSpare products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
Note: Perform this procedure for one axle at a time.

- Position the wheels so that the final drive drain plugs are facing downward.
- Remove the final drive drain plugs and allow the oil to drain into a suitable container. Clean the drain plugs and install the drain plugs.
- Remove differential drain plug (1) and allow the oil to drain into a suitable container. Clean the drain plug and install the drain plug.

- Remove differential filler plug (2). Fill the front differential to the bottom of the filler plug opening.
Reference: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lubricant Viscosities and Refill Capacities" for the correct type of oil and for the correct amount of oil.
- Clean the filler plug and install the filler plug.
- Position each wheel so that the filler plugs for the final drives are flush with the centerline of each wheel. Remove the filler plugs.

- Fill the final drives to the bottom of the filler plug opening.
Reference: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lubricant Viscosities and Refill Capacities" for the correct type of oil and for the correct amount of oil.
- Clean the filler plugs and install the filler plugs.
Note: If the specified amount of oil will not fit in the final drives, install the final drive filler plugs. Run the machine on level ground for a few minutes in order to equalize the oil level in the axle. Remove the front final drive filler plugs and add the remaining oil.
- Operate the machine for a few minutes and recheck the oil level. The oil level should reach the bottom of the filler plug opening.
If the oil level is higher than the filler plug opening, do not allow the oil to drain to the level of the filler plug opening. Install the filler plug.
- Repeat this procedure for the other axle.
