Machine Controls

Attachment Coupler Lever Lock Control (If Equipped)

SMCS Code: 5001; 5063; 5258

LOCKED - Move the lever lock and push the pin into the hole. This locks the attachment control lever.

NOTE: Place the attachment control lever into the LOCKED position if you are roading the machine or you are transporting the machine.

UNLOCKED - Pull the pin out of the hole. Move the lever lock away from the attachment control lever. This releases the attachment control lever.

Attachment Auxiliary Control

SMCS Code: 5063; 5258; 5700

Move the diverter valve lever to the auxiliary position in order to divert flow to the attachment.

Pull back the lever in order to pressurize the left supply line.

Push the lever forward in order to pressurize the right supply line.

------ WARNING! ------

Diverter valve lever must be returned to the vertical auxiliary position before operating hydraulic attachments to ensure coupler pins are locked. Failure to do so may cause the attachment to fall off and causing personal injury.

------WARNING!--------

Attachment Coupler Control

SMCS Code: 5056; 5258; 5700

------ WARNING! ------

Improper attachment of attachments could result in injury or death.

Do not operate this machine until you have positive indication that the coupler pins are fully engaged. Check for engagement by:

1. Push the tilt control to tilt the attachment down.
2. Put down pressure on the attachment.
3. Back the machine up and make sure there is not movement between the attachment and the coupler.
------WARNING!--------

Move the diverter valve lever to the coupler position in order to provide flow to the coupler.

Disengage (1) - Move the lever to position (1) in order to disengage the coupler pins. Release the lever in order to return the lever to the HOLD position.

Hold (2) - Release the lever. The coupler pins will remain in the engaged position or in the disengaged position.

Engage (3) - Move the lever to position (3) in order to engage the coupler pins. Release the lever in order to return the lever to the HOLD position.

Operating Techniques

Attachment Coupler Operation

SMCS Code: 7000

------ WARNING! ------

Improper attachment of attachments could result in injury or death.

Do not operate this machine until you have positive indication that the coupler pins are fully engaged. Check for engagement by:

1. Push the tilt control to tilt the attachment down.
2. Put down pressure on the attachment.
3. Back the machine up and make sure there is not movement between the attachment and the coupler.
------WARNING!--------

Front Attachment Coupler For Tools That Do Not Require Hydraulics
1. Push the attachment coupler lever forward in order to disengage the coupler pins.
2. Tilt the coupler assembly forward.
3. Slowly, drive the machine forward. Align the attachment hooks with the coupler assembly.
4. Pull back on the lift lever in order to slightly raise the coupler. Raise the coupler until the coupler assembly contacts the attachment hooks and the attachment is lifted up slightly.

Make sure that the attachment is level from one side to the other side.

5. Tilt back the coupler assembly until the alignment bar of the attachment contacts the coupler.
6. Pull back on the coupler lever in order to engage the coupler pins into the attachment retainer.

NOTE: Ensure that the tool is firmly attached and continue with steps 7 through 9.

7. Push the tilt lever in order to tilt the attachment downward.
8. Push the lift lever forward in order to put down pressure on the attachment.
9. Back up the machine and make sure that there is no movement between the attachment and the coupler.

Steps 7 through 9 indicate that the coupler pins have fully engaged into the attachment retainer holes.

Attachments That Require Hydraulics

Follow the procedure that is described in "Front Attachment Coupler for Tools That Do Not Require Hydraulics".

Auxiliary quick connectors (1) with diverter valve (2) in the auxiliary position.

------ WARNING! ------

Diverter valve lever must be returned to the vertical auxiliary position before operating hydraulic attachments to ensure coupler pins are locked. Failure to do so may cause the attachment to fall off and causing personal injury.

------WARNING!--------

Before connecting or disconnecting the quick disconnect plugs, follow the hints below.

1. Stop the engine.
2. Move all of the hydraulic attachment control levers in order to relieve the pressure in the hydraulic lines.
3. Return all of the levers to the HOLD position.

Connecting Lines And Disconnecting Lines
1. Disconnect the hydraulic lines of the tool that will be used. Wipe off all foreign material.
2. Remove the plugs and connect the lines.
3. Install plugs on any unused connectors.

Maximum Allowable Load For 928G

------ WARNING! ------

When carrier machines are equipped with front attachments other than buckets, lifting a load that is greater than shown in the Loading Chart for that machine could cause the attachment to rotate downward, allowing the load to slide or pitch forward resulting in personal injury or death.

------WARNING!--------

The combined weight of the coupler, attachment, and load must not be greater than the maximum allowable load at the load application point as shown in the Loading Chart for the carrier machine. The weight of the coupler is 250 kg.
