Walk-Around Checks

For your own safety, and maximum service life of the loader, a thorough walk-around inspection should be made before mounting the machine to start the engine. Check for such items as loose bolts, trash build-up, oil or coolant leaks, condition and inflation of tires, condition of bucket.

1. Check engine crankcase oil level. Oil level should be in the SAFE STARTING RANGE on the ENGINE STOPPED side of the dipstick.

2. Coolant level is satisfactory if within 1/2 inch (1 cm) of bottom of fill pipe.

3. Check diesel fuel level.

4. Check tire pressure. See TIRE INFLATION INFORMATION.

5. Check transmission oil level. Oil level should be above FULL mark on dipstick.

6. Check hydraulic system oil level with bucket on ground and oil cold. Oil level should be above ADD mark in sight gauge.

7. Check air cleaner service indicator. If RED piston in indicator is locked up, have filter elements serviced.
