(8)Diesel Engine Crankcase

------ WARNING! ------

Always install lift arm support bracket before servicing engine area.

------WARNING!--------

1. Operate engine to warm oil. Stop engine and remove key. Remove access cover from crankcase guard. Remove drain plug. Open crankcase drain valve.

2. Remove engine side guard. Remove filter drain plug.

3. Remove covers and used elements.
4. Install new elements.
5. Clean and install filter drain plug.
6. Close crankcase drain valve. Clean and install drain plug.

7. Clean covers and inspect seals. Install new seals if necessary. Install covers.

8. Remove breather cover and element.

9. Wash element in clean solvent.

10. Install element and cover.

11. Fill crankcase. See Refill Capacities.

12. Check oil level. Level should be above FULL mark on dipstick.
13. Start engine. Check oil level after engine is warm.

(9)Transmission, Bevel Gear And Steering Clutch Compartment

1. Remove filter housing access guard.

2. Remove filter housing drain plug to drain housing.

3. Remove covers and used elements.

4. Inspect seals. Use new seals if necessary.
5. Install new elements. Install covers.
6. Install housing drain plug. Install access guard.

7. Remove floor plate.

8. Remove cover and spring.

9. Remove screen and magnets.
10. Wash screen and magnets in clean solvent. Clean magnets with a cloth, stiff brush or pressure air.

When using pressure air wear safety glasses and protective clothing. Maximum air pressure must be below 30 PSI (2 kg/cm2).

NOTICE

Do not drop or rap magnets against hard objects. Replace any damaged magnets.


12. Inspect seal. Install new seal if necessary.
13. Install screen and magnets.
14. Install spring and cover.

15. Raise seat and remove old breather. Install new breather.

16. Check oil level and add oil if required. Operate Traxcavator a few minutes and recheck oil level.

(10)Bucket Lift Linkage

Lubricate 11 fittings on each side. Total 22 fittings.

(11)Demolition Bucket

Lubricate 3 fittings on each side. Total 6 fittings.

(12)Water Pump Bearing

Lubricate 1 fitting.

(13)Fan And Adjusting Pulley Bearings

Lubricate fan bearing - 1 fitting.

Lubricate adjusting pulley bearing - 1 fitting.

(14)Fan, Alternator And Water Pump Belts

------ WARNING! ------

Always install lift arm support bracket before servicing engine area.

------WARNING!--------

1. Remove engine side guard and check belts for wear or cuts.

2. Check adjustment.

3. Correct adjustment is 1/2 inch (12 mm) deflection.

To Adjust Belts:

1. Loosen locknut.

2. Turn adjusting nut to obtain correct deflection.

3. Tighten locknut and recheck adjustment. Install engine side guard.

(15)Steering Clutch Brakes

Measure pedal free travel. Travel must be 3 to 4 inches (75 to 100 mm) measured at the center of the foot pad.

1. If adjustment is necessary, remove guard and cover. Turn socket clockwise until tight.

2. Turn socket counterclockwise 2 turns or 12 clicks. Check adjustment. Install cover.
3. Repeat procedure for opposite steering clutch brake. Install guard.
