Stopping
- 1. Reduce travel speed.
- 2. Apply hydraulic retarder, if so equipped.
- 3. Shift manual type transmission to lower gear speed as tractor-scraper slows down. (Semiautomatic transmission will automatically shift down to 2nd speed as tractor-scraper speed decreases.) Apply service brakes to stop tractor-scraper.
- 4. Shift transmission to NEUTRAL and apply safety lock.
- 5. Run engine at low idle if it is to be stopped.
Parking
- 1. Push control to lower scraper bowl.
- 2. Place emergency brake lever in park, if so equipped.
- 3. Push cushion-hitch control to LOCK DOWN.
Stopping the Engine
- 1. Operate under light load for 5 minutes.
- 2. Run engine at low idle for 30 seconds.
- 3. Lift toe of accelerator past detent to stop engine.
- 4. Turn disconnect switch OFF. Remove key if leaving tractor-scraper.

- 5. Drain water from tractor-scraper air reservoirs. (Do not turn drain bolt more than one full turn.)
