(30)Engine Crankcase
Hot oil or components can cause personal injury if they contact skin. Use caution when draining oil or changing filters. |
Oil warm, machine level, blade lowered with slight down pressure, brake lock applied and engine stopped.
Spin-on Type Filter
- 1. Remove crankcase drain plug and allow oil to drain.
- 2. Remove filter element with a strap-type wrench.
- 3. Clean filter housing base. Be sure all of old gasket is removed.
- 4. Apply a thin film of clean oil to the gasket of the new filter.
- 5. Install new filter element by hand.
- 6. When gasket contacts filter, tighten element 1/2 turn more.
- 7. Clean and install crankcase plug.
- 8. Fill crankcase with new oil. See REFILL CAPACITIES.
- 9. Start engine and allow oil to warm. Measure oil level. Add oil if necessary.
Bolt-on Type Filter
- 1. Remove crankcase drain plug and allow oil to drain.
- 2. Remove filter drain plug and allow oil to drain.
- 3. Loosen filter element housing bolt and remove housing and element.
- 4. Discard element. Clean housing.
- 5. Clean housing base. Inspect seal. Use new one if necessary.
- 6. Install new element and housing. Clean and install drain plug.
- 7. Install crankcase drain plug.
- 8. Fill crankcase with oil. See REFILL CAPACITIES.
- 9. Start engine and allow oil to circulate.
- 10. Measure oil level. Add oil if necessary.
Breather
- 1. With engine stopped, loosen crankcase breather hose clamp and mounting bolt. Remove breather.
- 2. Wash breather in clean nonflammable solvent. Shake or blow dry. Inspect seal.
- 3. Install breather. Tighten bolt to 10 ± 2 lb ft (14 ± 3 N·m).
(31)Hydraulic Control System
Hot oil or components can cause personal injury if they contact skin. Use caution when draining oil or changing filters. |
Machine must be level, oil warm, engine stopped, blade lowered with slight down pressure and parking brake applied.
- 1. Move controls to relieve pressure. Loosen filler cap slowly to relieve pressure.
- 2. Remove cover and element.
- 3. Clean cover and inspect seal. Use new one if necessary.
- 4. Install new filter element. Install cover. Tighten cover bolt.
- 5. Make sure hydraulic controls are in HOLD. Start engine and allow oil to circulate.
- 6. Inspect oil level with engine running at low idle. Oil must be visible in sight gauge. Add oil if necessary.
(32)Cooling System
Always inspect cooling system with engine stopped. Remove filler cap slowly to relieve pressure. Steam can cause personal injury. Inhibitor contains alkali, avoid contact with skin and eyes to prevent personal injury. |
NOTICE |
---|
Do not use AVSpare Cooling System Inhibitor with Dowtherm 209 coolant. |
Add enough AVSpare Cooling System Inhibitor, or equivalent, to maintain a 3% concentration in the cooling system.
(33)Winch Magnetic Strainer
- 1. Remove cover and strainer. Wash strainer in clean solvent.
- 2. Install strainer. Inspect seal. Install a new seal if necessary. Install cover.
(34)Winch Filter
- 1. Remove cover and filter. Install new filter.
- 2. Inspect seal. Install a new seal if necessary. Install cover.
(35)Fuel Tank Filler Cap And Screen
- 1. Remove filler cap. Use new gasket if necessary.
- 2. Remove lock ring and filler screen. Wash in clean, nonflammable solvent and install.
- 3. Disassemble filler cap and wash in clean non-flammable solvent. Assemble and oil element lightly.
