Wear a hard hat, safety glasses and respirator as required by job conditions.

Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry that could catch on controls.

Do not smoke while fueling.

Block raised bulldozer if working in this area.

Don't rush-be careful.

Know the hand signals and who gives them.

Lower equipment and stop engine before servicing.

Before Starting

Report needed repairs.

Be sure safety link is in carry position before moving the wheel tractor.

Clear obstacles from path of machine-note hazards such as wires and ditches.

Fasten seat belt before operating.

Make certain all safety guards and covers are in place.

Clear personnel from the machine and area.

Start engine only in a well ventilated area.

Be particularly careful on machines you do not usually operate.

Starting the Engine

Do not jump off the machine. Use steps and grab irons.

Stop engine before leaving the machine.

Move all controls to HOLD or NEUTRAL before starting the engine.

Adjust seat.

After Starting

Check all controls for proper operation.

Test brakes.

Test right and left steering While moving slowly.

Test engine accelerator.

Keep operator's compartment clean.

Always lower equipment before dismounting.

Listen for unusual noises.

Set parking brake before lowering the machine.

Check function of safety devices.

Operating

No unauthorized riders.

Observe all gauges frequently investigate improper readings.

Use extra caution in crossing side hills, ridges, ditches and other obstructions.

Stay a safe distance from edge of cliff or overhang.

Know traffic pattern of the job and obey flagmen, road signs and signals.

Keep machine under control-do not try to work machine over capacity.

Pull to side of road to allow vehicles to pass, if traffic lines up behind the machine.

Report needed repairs.

Look behind machine before backing.

Stay clear of overhangs, electric wires, slide areas or other danger areas.

Use extreme care to avoid tipping when working on hills, banks or slopes.

Match speed with job conditions-do not coast.

Know your stopping distance at any given speed. Regulate travel speed accordingly.

Make sure clearance flags and other required warnings are on machine when roading.

Stop machine frequently at night-walk around and inspect machine-stay alert.

Shipping

Remove ice, snow or other slippery material from truck bed and loading dock.

Observe all safety regulations governing wide loads.

Block and tie wheel tractor securely.

Check with authorities for weight limits and overhead clearances of proposed route.
