(22)Scraper Engine Crankcase - Change Oil, Filter Element and Wash Breather

1. Remove crankcase drain plug.

2. Remove filter housing drain plug.

3. Remove housing and used element. Clean housing.

4. Use new seal.

5. Install new element. Install housing.

6. Clean and install drain plugs.

7. To wash breather loosen hose clamp.

8. Remove breather.

9. Wash breather in clean kerosene.

10. Dry element with pressure air.

11. Use new seal.

12. Install breather. Tighten bolt to 10 ± 2 lb. ft. (1,4 ± 0,3 mkg).

13. Fill crankcase. (Refill capacities on page 54.)

14. Check oil level. Should be above FULL mark on ENGINE STOPPED side of gauge.

15. Start engine. Check oil level when engine is warm.

16. Add oil to FULL mark on ENGINE STOPPED side of gauge.

(23)Steering Gear Sector Housing And Shaft Lower Bearing

1. Remove filler plug. Maintain oil level to plug opening. Clean and install plug.

2. Remove plug. Lubricate bearing with 2 or 3 squirts of oil. Clean and install plug.

(24)Steering Column Shaft Upper Bearing

Lubricate 1 fitting.

(25)Tractor Water Pump, Belt Adjusting Pulley And Fan Bearings

Lubricate 3 fittings.

(26)Instrument Panel Bracket

Lubricate 1 fitting.

(27)Brake Camshaft Bearings

Lubricate 2 fittings by each wheel. Total 8 fittings.

(28)Scraper Fan Bearings

Lubricate 1 fitting.

(29)Scraper Belt Adjusting Pulley Bracket

Lubricate 1 fitting.

(30)Drive Shaft Universals

Remove guard. Lubricate 2 fittings.

(31)Tractor Transmission System - Change Filter Element

1. Remove drain plug.

2. Remove cover and element. Clean housing.

3. Remove element from cover. Use new seals.

4. Install new element. Tighten to 10 ± 2 lb. ft. (1,5 ± 0,5 mkg). Install cover.

5. Clean and install drain plug. Tighten to 35 ± 5 lb. ft. (4,8 ± 0,7 mkg).
6. Start engine and operate machine a few minutes. Check oil level and add oil if necessary.

(32)Scraper Transmission System - Change Filter Element

1. Remove drain plug.

2. Remove cover and used element.

3. Install new seal.

4. Remove used element from cover and install new element. Tighten to 10 ± 2 lb. ft. (1,4 ± 0,3 mkg).

5. Install cover and drain plug.

6. Start and operate machine a few minutes. Check oil level and add if necessary.

(33)Tractor Differential And Final Drives

Remove breather and wash in kerosene. Lightly oil element and install breather.

1. Remove breather cover.

2. Wash element in kerosene. Lightly oil element and install.

(35)Tractor Engine Crankcase - Wash Breather

1. Remove cover and element.

2. Wash element in clean kerosene and dry.
3. Install element and cover.

(36)Tractor Belt Adjustment - Check - Adjust

1. Check condition and adjustment of belts. Correct adjustment allows 9/16 to 13/16 inch (14 to 20 mm) deflection.

2. To adjust, loosen locknut.

3. Turn adjusting nut to obtain correct deflection. Tighten locknut.

(37)Scraper Belt Adjustment - Check - Adjust

1. Check condition and adjustment of belts. Correct adjustment allows 9/16 to 13/16 inch (14 to 20 mm) deflection.

1. To adjust, loosen idler bolts.

2. Move alternator or idler to obtain correct adjustment. Tighten bolts and recheck adjustment.

(38)Brake Adjustment

1. With brakes released, check distance from rotochamber to slack adjuster arm.

2. Apply brakes and check movement of arm. If movement is more than 3 inches (7,6 cm) adjust brakes.

3. To adjust turn locking bolt 1/2 turn counterclockwise.

4. Turn adjusting worm in or out to limit movement to 2 inches (5,0 cm).

5. Turn locking bolt 1/2 turn clockwise.

6. Check rod movement for binding, check diaphragm for air leaks. Check for dragging brakes.
