3.1. Starting Scraper Engine From Tractor

Above 60°F (16°C)

Ejector must be to the rear of the bowl.

8. Depress tractor and scraper accelerators to 1/2 engine speed.

9. Push to engage accelerator lock.

10. Push governor control out of shut off position.

11. Press scraper start button. Release button when engine starts.

Below 60°F (16°C)

8. Depress tractor and scraper accelerators to 1/2 engine speed and push to engage accelerator lock.

9. With governor control in shut off position, press start button and crank engine a few revolutions. (Crank engine longer in colder temperatures.)

10. Push governor control out of shut off position. Press heat button for indicated time. (See chart on page 19.)

11. Press start button and heat button until engine starts. Heat button may be held until engine runs smoothly.


NOTICE

Use starting fluid below 32°F (0°C). Spray into air intake only while cranking engine. Use fluid sparingly.

Never press heat button or start button when the scraper engine is warm and running.


Starting Scraper Engine From Tractor

Start scraper engine from tractor only after scraper engine has been stopped for a short period of time.

8. Depress tractor and scraper accelerator pedals to 1/2 engine speed.

9. Press scraper start button. Release button when engine starts.
