(37a)Cooling System - Adding Inhibitor
![]() |
Always inspect the cooling system with the engine stopped. Remove the radiator cap slowly to relieve pressure. Steam can cause personal injury. Do not allow inhibitor, which contains alkali to contact skin or eyes. |

NOTICE |
---|
Do not use AVSpare Cooling System Inhibitor with Dowtherm 209 coolant. |
AT FIRST 500 SERVICE HOURS OR 3 MONTHS OR AT INITIAL FILL: Add 5 quarts (4.75 litres) of AVSpare Cooling System Inhibitor or equivalent to each radiator.
EVERY 500 SERVICE HOURS OR 3 MONTHS THEREAFTER: Add 1 quart (0.95 litre) of inhibitor to each radiator to maintain the required 3% concentration.
Remove tractor and scraper engine radiator caps slowly to relieve pressure. Add inhibitor in amounts indicated above. Inspect the radiator caps. Replace damaged seals. Install the caps.
(37b)Wheel Coolant
![]() |
Without wheel coolant, brakes can generate enough heat to burn the tire bead, and possibly cause the tire to blow out. |
![]() |
- 1. Position each tractor and scraper wheel so fill plug is level with center of axle.
- 2. Remove the plug. Maintain the coolant level to the bottom of the plug opening. Clean and install plug.
