(25)Tractor Engine Crankcase

Spin-on Type Engine Oil Filters

NOTE: Tractor engine crankcase oil must be changed at 125 SERVICE HOURS. (See Item 24.)

1. Remove used filters. Clean seal contact surface of filter bases. Be sure all of used filter seals are removed.

2. Coat seal of new filter with clean oil.
3. Install new oil filter. When filter seal contacts filter base, tighten an additional 3/4 turn.


NOTICE

Do not overtighten


4. Start engine and run at low idle to fill filters. Check for leaks.

5. Stop engine. Check oil level. Add oil as necessary.

(26)Scraper Fan Bearings And Fan Belt Tightener

Lubricate 4 fittings.

(27)Front Wheel Bearings

Lubricate 1 fitting in each wheel. Total 2 fittings.

(28)Tractor And Scraper Brakes

1. Release brakes and check distance from rotochamber to slack adjuster arm.

2. Engage brakes and check travel of arm. If more than 3 inches (8 cm), adjust brakes.

3. To adjust, turn locking bolt 1/2 turn counterclockwise.

4. Turn adjusting worm in out to obtain 2 1/2 inches (6,5 cm) free travel.

5. Turn locking bolt 1/2 turn clockwise.

6. Check for binding of rod and brake drag. Check diaphragm for leaks.

(29)Tractor Alternator Belts

1. Check condition and adjustment of belts. Correct adjustment allows 9/16 to 13/16 inch (14 to 20 mm) deflection.

2. To adjust, loosen locknut.

3. Turn adjusting nut to obtain correct deflection. Tighten locknut.

(30)Scraper Water Pump And Fan Belts

Water Pump Belts

1. Check condition and adjustment of belts. Correct adjustment allows 9/16 to 13/16 inch (14 to 20 mm) deflection under 25 lbs. (110 N) force.

2. To adjust, loosen locknut.

3. Turn adjusting nut to obtain correct deflection. Tighten locknut.

Fan Belts

1. Check condition and adjustment of belts. Correct adjustment allows 9/16 to 13/16 inch (14 to 20 mm) deflection under 25 lbs. (110 N) force.

2. Fan belt tension is maintained by a spring and pulley arrangement.
3. Replace the 3 belt set if correct tension is not maintained.
