(23)Tractor Engine Crankcase

Spin-on Type Engine Oil Filters

NOTE: Tractor engine crankcase oil must be changed at 125 SERVICE HOURS. (See item 22.)

1. Remove used filters. Clean seal contact surface of filter bases. Be sure all of used filter seals are removed.

2. Coat seal of new filter with clean oil.
3. Install new oil filter. When filter seal contacts filter base, tighten an additional 3/4 turn.


NOTICE

Do not overtighten


4. Start engine and run at low idle to fill filters. Check for leaks.

5. Stop engine. Check oil level. Add oil as necessary.

(24)Tractor And Scraper Brakes

1. Park machine on level.
2. Lower apron.
3. Lower scraper bowl to ground.

4. Make sure air pressure is in operating range.

------ WARNING! ------

Chock wheels so machine can not move in either direction.

------WARNING!--------
5. Stop engines.

6. Measure distance from rotochamber to slack adjuster pin.

7. Apply brakes and check movement of adjuster at pin. If travel is 3 inches (76,2 mm) or more, adjust brakes.

8. To adjust, loosen adjustment locking bolt by turning counterclockwise.

9. Turn adjusting bolt in or out as necessary to limit travel to 2 1/2inches (63,5 mm).
10. Tighten adjustment locking bolt.
11. Apply and release brakes while observing brake assembly.
12. Check for rotochamber rod binding.
13. Check diaphragm for leakage.
14. Repeat procedure for each wheel brake.
15. Start engine.


NOTICE

Do not move machine until air pressure is in operating range.


16. Remove chocks and move machine and check for dragging brakes.

(25)Tractor Fan Belts

Check condition and adjustment of belts. Adjust or replace as necessary.

To Adjust:

1. Correct adjustment allows 9/16 to 13/16 inch (14 to 20 mm) deflection.

2. Loosen locknut.

3. Turn adjusting nut to obtain correct adjustment. Tighten locknut. Recheck adjustment.

(26)Scraper Fan Belts

Check condition and adjustment of belts. Adjust or replace as necessary.

To Adjust:

1. Correct adjustment allows 9/16 to 13/16 inch (14 to 20 mm) deflection.

2. Loosen locknut.

3. Turn adjusting nut to obtain correct adjustment. Tighten locknut. Recheck adjustment.

Lubricate 3 fittings.

Lubricate 1 fitting.

Lubricate 1 fitting.
