(5)Cutting Edge And End Bits-Reverse or Install New

Change cutting edge and use new end bits before wear starts on blade support.

1. Raise the blade.

2. Block the blade.

3. Remove bolts.

4. Remove cutting edge or bit. Clean contact surfaces.

5. Use opposite cutting edge if not worn. Use new section if both edges are worn.

6. Use new end bits.

7. Install bolts and tighten to specified torque.

8. Remove blocks.

9. After a few hours of operation retighten bolts to proper torque.

(6)Ripper Tip (R Bulldozers Only)-Replace

1. Raise blade and extend shanks.

2. Block the blade.

3. Drive out pin.

4. Slide off tip.

5. Clean pin.

6. Clean shank.

7. Slide on new tip and align pin holes.

8. Drive in pin.

(7)Shank Protector (R Bulldozers Only)-Replace

1. Raise blade and extend shank.

2. Block the blade.

3. Drive out pin.

4. Remove protector.

5. Clean pin.

6. Clean shank.

7. Slide on new protector and align pin holes.

8. Drive in pin.

(8)Hydraulic Cylinder (Blade Lift Only)-Adjust Packing

1. Lower blade and stop engine.

2. Move controls to relieve hydraulic pressure.

3. Remove bolts.

4. Slide or tap flange away from shims.

5. Cut and remove one shim.

6. Install flange and bolts.

7. Start engine and test for leaks at packing.

8. If still leaking, remove another shim. Leave at least 2 shims. If packing still leaks, see your AVSpare dealer.
