(23)Hydraulic Control System-Change Oil, Wash Filler Screen
- 1. Drain system when oil is warm.
- 2. Completely raise and dump bucket.
- 3. Stop engine. Remove fill cap slowly.
- 4. Open drain valve to drain oil.
- 5. Lower bucket cutting edge on to a 2' (0,6 m) block.
- 6. Move tilt control to TILT BACK and lift control to LOWER to ...
- 7. Lower bucket.
- 8. Remove filler strainer.
- 9. Wash strainer in clean kerosene or diesel fuel. Install strainer.
- 10. Install new filter elements. See item 17.
- 11. Close drain valve.
- 12. Loosen bleed plug.
- 13. Fill tank to above ADD mark in sight gauge.
- 14. Install filler cap loosely.
- 15. Start engine and run at 1/2 engine speed.
- 16. Close bleed valve when oil flows without air bubbles.
- 17. Raise bucket approximately 6' (1,8 m).
- 18. Dump bucket.
- 19. Remove cap and fill tank to above ADD mark in gauge. Install cap loosely.
- 20. Loosen bleed valve. Close valve when oil flows without air bubbles.
- 21. Tilt bucket back.
- 22. Completely raise then lower bucket.
Do not operate over relief valve pressure or allow bucket control to go into FLOAT position.
- 23. Remove cap and fill tank to above ADD mark in sight gauge.
- 24. Install cap tightly. Operate engine at high idle.
- 25. Completely raise, dump, tilt back and lower bucket several times.
- 26. Check oil level and bleed system several times during the first day of operation.

Check after engine has been stopped 20 minutes.
- 1. Remove camshaft cover.
- 2. Remove plug.
- 3. Turn flywheel to close No. 1 exhaust and inlet valves and ...
- 4. Allow bolt to be installed in flywheel.
- 5. Check lash for No. 1, No. 3 and No. 5 exhaust valves. Adjust if necessary. (See page 28).
- 6. Check lash for No. 1, No. 2 and No. 4 inlet valves. Adjust if necessary.
- 7. Remove bolt.
- 8. Rotate flywheel 360° to close No. 6 exhaust and inlet valves and ...
- 9. Allow bolt to be installed in flywheel.
- 10. Check lash for No. 2, No. 4 and No. 6 exhaust valves. Adjust if necessary.
- 11. Check lash for No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 inlet valves. Adjust if necessary.
- 12. Remove bolt from flywheel.
- 13. Install plug.
- 14. Install camshaft cover.
Adjusting Valve Lash
- 1. Insert a cross point (Phillips) screwdriver in hole inside of cam follower.
- 2. Turn screwdriver clockwise to increase lash or counterclockwise to decrease lash.
