(10)Diesel Engine Crankcase-Change Oil and Filter Elements, Wash Breather

------ WARNING! ------

ALWAYS INSTALL LIFT ARM SUPPORT BEFORE SERVICING ENGINE AREA.

------WARNING!--------

1. Open valve to drain crankcase.

2. Remove engine side guard. Remove filter drain plug.

3. Remove covers and used elements.

4. Inspect seals. Install new seals if necessary.

5. Install new elements. Install covers and drain plug.

6. Close crankcase drain valve.

7. Remove and disassemble breather.

8. Wash elements in clean kerosene or diesel fuel. Assemble and install breather.

9. Fill crankcase. (Refill capacity on page 36.)

10. Check oil level. Should be in safe starting range on "engine stopped" side of gauge.

11. Start engine. Check oil level when engine is warm.

12. Add oil as necessary to bring level to FULL mark on gauge.

(11)Transmission, Bevel Gear And Steering Clutch Compartment

Change Filter Elements and Breather, Wash Magnetic Strainers

------ WARNING! ------

ALWAYS INSTALL LIFT ARM SUPPORT BEFORE SERVICING ENGINE AREA

------WARNING!--------

1. Raise bucket and install lift arm support.

2. Remove engine side guard.

3. Remove cover and spring.

4. Remove screen and magnets.

5. Remove floor plate.

6. Remove cover and spring.

7. Remove screen and magnets.

8. Wash screens in clean kerosene or diesel fuel.

9. Use a cloth or stiff bristle brush to clean magnets. Do not drop magnets.

10. Check seals. Install new seals if necessary.

11. Install screens and magnets. Install springs and covers.

12. Install floor plate and engine side guard.

13. Remove filter access guard.

14. Remove cap to drain housing.

15. Remove covers and elements.

16. Check seals. Install new seals if necessary.

17. Install new elements. Install covers.

18. Install cap on filter drain. Install guard.

19. Raise seat and remove old breather. Install new breather.

20. Check oil level.

21. Add oil as necessary.

(12)Fan And Adjusting Pulley Bearings

Lubricate fan bearing - 1 fitting.

Lubricate adjusting pulley bearing - 1 fitting.

(13)Water Pump Bearing

Lubricate 1 fitting.

(14)Fan Belts

Check condition of belts. Always install belts in matched sets even if only one needs replacing.

(15)Alternator And Water Pump Belts

------ WARNING! ------

ALWAYS INSTALL LIFT ARM SUPPORT BEFORE SERVICING ENGINE AREA.

------WARNING!--------

1. Remove engine side guard and check for wear or cuts.

2. Check adjustment.

3. Correct adjustment is 1/2inch (12 mm) deflection.

To Adjust Belts:

1. Loosen locknut.

2. Turn adjusting nut to obtain correct deflection.

3. Tighten locknut and recheck adjustment. Install engine side guard.

(16)Steering Clutch Brakes

Measure pedal free travel. Must be 3 to 4 inches (75 to 100 mm) measured at center of grooved foot pad.

1. If adjustment is necessary, remove guard and cover. Turn socket clockwise until tight.

2. Turn socket counterclockwise 2 turns or 12 clicks. Follow same procedure for each brake.
