The steering wheel must be centered, when engine is running with the safety link in the locked position, to prevent damage to the steering and brake hydraulic pump. |
Wear a hard hat, safety glasses and respirator as required by job conditions.
Never work around center of frame without safety link in locked position.
Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry that could catch on controls.
Don't rush - be careful.
Be sure safety link is in carrying position before moving loader.
Know the hand signals and who gives them.
Lower bucket and stop engine before servicing.
Do not smoke while fueling.
Preparing to Operate

Report needed repairs.
Be sure machine is equipped with clearance lights, if required by law.
Make certain all safety guards and covers are secured in place.
Clear personnel from machine and area.
Clear obstacles from path of machine - note hazards such as wires and ditches.
Start engine only in well ventilated area.
Be particularly careful on machines you do not usually operate.
Fasten seat belt before operating.
Checking Controls

Check all controls for proper operation.
Test engine accelerator.
Test right and left steering while moving slowly.
Test brakes.
Operating
Set parking brake before leaving machine.
Look behind machine before backing.
Observe all gauges frequently - investigate improper readings.
Stay clear of overhangs, electric wires, slide areas or other danger areas.
Use extra caution in crossing side hills, ridges, ditches and other obstructions.
Use extreme care to avoid tipping when working on hills, banks or slopes.
Stay safe distance from edge of cliff or overhang.
Know traffic pattern of the job and obey flagmen, road signs and signals.
Always lower bucket before dismounting.
Match speed with job conditions - do not coast.
Know your stopping distance at any given speed. Regulate travel speed accordingly.
Keep machine under control - do not try to work machine over capacity.
Make sure clearance flags and other required warnings are on machine when roading.
Stop machine frequently at night-walk around and inspect machine - stay alert.
Report needed repairs noted during operation.
Carry bucket close to the ground.
No riders.
Machine stability may be improved by the addition of tire ballast. Machine stability may differ with the bucket being used, and the material being loaded. Consult your AVSpare dealer for necessary information.
Mounting and Dismounting
Do not jump off machine. Use steps and grab irons.
Shut off engine before leaving machine.
Listen for unusual noises.
Move all bucket controls to HOLD or NEUTRAL before starting engine.
Check function of safety devices such as lights, back-up alarms, etc.
