(13)Center Drive Shaft Spline
Articulate machine full right or full left. Lower equipment and stop engine. Lubricate 1 fitting.
(14)Steering Cylinder Bearings
- 1. Lubricate 1 fitting at head end of each cylinder. Total 2 fittings.
- 2. Lubricate 1 fitting at rod end of each cylinder. Total 2 fittings.
(15)Water Pump Bearing
Lubricate 1 fitting.
(16)Steering Follow-Up Linkage
Lubricate 2 fittings (if equipped).
(17)Alternator And Water Pump Belts
- 1. Check for wear and cuts.
- 2. Check adjustment.
- 3. Correct adjustment is 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) deflection under 25 lbs. (11.5 kg) force.
To Adjust Belts:
- 1. Loosen locknut.
- 2. Turn adjusting nut to obtain correct deflection.
- 3. Tighten locknut and recheck adjustment.
(18)Service Brakes
- 1. Apply brakes and hold pedal in applied position.
- 2. Check for clearance between edge of shoe plates and retractor springs. Install new lining when shoe plate contacts retractor spring.
- 3. Replace damaged or missing retractor springs.
- 4. With engine stopped depress brake pedal 5 or 6 times. If gauge reads DO NOT OPERATE before 5 or 6 full brake applications check brake system lines and hoses. Also check brake accumulator (see item (33)).
(19)Parking/Emergency Brake
- 1. Pull up on parking/emergency brake control to engage brake.
- 2. Release range selector safety lock.

Be prepared to stop machine with service brakes, if emergency brake does not hold and machine moves. |
- 3. Shift range selector to 3rd forward speed. Increase speed of engine. Machine should not move and a warning horn should sound.
- 4. Shift range selector to 2nd forward speed. Increase speed of engine. Machine should not move and a warning horn should sound.
